Mavis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of experience working with adults and families in acute hospitalization, long-term care, outpatient, and faith-based settings. She have been licensed to practice independently since 2018. Mavis is skilled in empowering and improving the mental/emotional wellbeing of clients who desire to be healthier and live fulfilling productive lives. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Support Therapy, and Client Centered approaches to help clients improve mood, behavior, and functioning with an emphasis on the person(s) in their environment.

Mavis received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Clinical Social Work from Norfolk State University. She earned a second graduate degree in Divinity from The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.

Mavis is a consummate professional, Public Speaker, Mental Health First Aid Instructor and Best Selling Author of several books.
